About

This guide has been developed to assist healthcare providers in managing atrial fibrillation in older adults. It is based on two publications of the American Geriatrics Society (AGS), the 12th edition of The Geriatrics Review Syllabus and 2025 edition of Geriatrics At Your Fingertips®, and the 2023 ACC/AHA/ACCP/HRS Guideline for the Diagnosis and Management of Atrial Fibrillation: A Report of the American College of Cardiology/American Heart Association Joint Committee on Clinical Practice Guidelines.

Management of Atrial Fibrillation content was reviewed and updated in January 2025 by James T. Pacala, MD, MS, AGSF and Michael W. Rich, MD, AGSF.
